That couch catching your eye in the 2013 edition of IKEA’s new catalog may not be a couch at all. It is likely the entire living room was created by a graphic artist. In fact, much of the furniture and settings in the 324-page catalog are simply a collection of pixels and polygons arranged on a computer.

Very interesting - both technically as well as looking into the moral justifications the botnet operator provides. But equally interesting  is the discussion on Hacker News: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3960034. Especially the discussion on the Verified by Visa (3D Secure) system and how the goal is basically to move liability onto the consumer and off of the merchant or credit card company.

Free Universal Construction Kit is a set of 3D models you can print on a 3D printer that allow you to connect Lego to Duplo to Lincoln Logs, etc.
