Viceroy lounge. The website apparently isn't very representative because although I looked at it before going out and I'd been to the place previously, I didn't
realize it was the same location until we got there.
I got several games for my Wii through Sarah's connections including
Wii Play and
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. We played both of them and I thought
Find Mii was especially fun.
Sarah's bunny is getting pretty big. Its been biting through wires now includig part way through the power cord to the cable box. You'd think after getting to the copper that it would learn to stop.
At any rate, it didn't hide any eggs. I don't have any new photos but you can see
the old bunny photos via my Vizicious
tool.

I just saw this on
another user's delicious links:
a link to ESV search that's
tagged with, among other things, "shortcut:esv". When viewed on del.icio.us there's a text box that lets you search using that link. I hadn't seen this before, but it seems pretty cool and I'm
surprised I hadn't seen it previously. A delicious post with such a tag ends up looking like the following:
I tried searching for information on this and I've found
other delicious users doing the same thing,
but nothing about the tag itself. If you know any information especially official information from del.icio.us itself please post links in reply to this post. So without further preface here's what
I've learned about the del.icio.us shortcut tag.
How-to
To get a search box in your del.icio.us links make a post that satisfies the following requirements:
- One of the tags must begin with the text 'shortcut:'. You can have more text following that in the tag if you like but it must at least start with 'shortcut:'.
- The 'url' you post must be a shortcut url rather than an actual URL. It must contain a '%s' with a lowercase 's'. When you enter text into the textbox on the del.icio.us page the text will
replace the '%s' after being percent-encoded. For example 'http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%s' is the shortcut url for Google and if you type 'foo bar' into the textbox the URI you will
navigate to would be 'http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=foo%20bar'.
Complaints
This is neat but I do have a few complaints:
- The text from the textbox is percent-encoded before replacing the '%s'. Most sites use application/x-www-form-urlencoded
which encodes spaces as '+' rather than '%20'.
- The shortcut url format seems to be taken from Mozilla's Firefox Custom Keywords. Its a shame it wasn't based on something more
adaptable like the OpenSearch URL template syntax.
- A '%s' in the url means technically what you're submitting to del.icio.us isn't a URI as defined by the standard.
- Allowing text after 'shortcut:' means you can't look at all of a user's shortcut using this tag.
The next step is to create a tool to sync my
IE7 search providers with my shortcuts saved to delicious...

Vizicious. Vizicious displays a graph of your
delicious links or (this is the new part) your flickr photos.
I had this previously on my old website but I've rewritten it and separated out the presentation portion from the part that does all the real work. This means its alot easier for me to incorporate
new kinds of input (like flickr feeds).

Have an OpenID that anyone can use because it performs no authorization. You'd specify a URI like http://deletethis.net/anonymousopenid/yournamehere and you'd immediately get an anonymous OpenID
associated with that URI. This has already been implemented by Jayant Gandhi.

Have an OpenID that consists of a group of member OpenIDs. To login as the Group OpenID you need to login with any of the member OpenIDs. This is discussed more by Dmitry Shechtman on his blog.

I find that I already have a couple of OpenIDs without even trying due to AOL giving out OpenIDs. I'd like for all of my
OpenIDs to point to one canonical OpenID. It looks like this may already be possible by the OpenID
specification.
I guess I'm a little late to the scene.
technical stolen-thoughts openid 2007 Jan 19, 9:15I've moved my homepage to server-side scripting. Previously I've mentioned that
I was using client side scripting to interpret and sort my
livejournal and delicious entries together. Now I'm using
PHP and
XSLTs to process and sort my livejournal,
delicious, flickr, and librarything entries. See

LibraryThing is pretty cool despite being pretty niche. Its like flickr but for books. I display a random sampling of the covers of books I have listed in
librarything on my page. I've also hooked the display of the covers of my book up to the corner image. Now when you hover over the cover of a book a bigger picture of its cover appears in the corner
of the webpage. Also, flickr entries in the main section how have the same on hover behavior.
This may not be the best use of my time, but its still fun.

Encode-O-Matic again. This is a tool I'm working on to convert between various Internet related encodings such as
character sets, HTML encoding, URI encoding, base64, and IDN. In this update I've put it all into an installer. I'm using
Nullsoft's installer
generator to produce the installer. I've added a Base Conversion converter to convert between arbitrary bases and a Reverse converter that reverses the input by character, byte, or strings with
arbitrary delimiters.

Polytope Tetris. Constructive thoughts:
- One dimensional view. It should be easy to just hack up the two dimensional view.
- Cross sectional view. I want to have a view that displays cross sections of the game space taken across one dimension all in a row. It'd be nice if this cross sectional view could use any other
view to display each cross section, however I don't think the game's arch easily allows for that. Instead I may have to make it specific to the three dimensional view
Deconstructive thoughts:
- I went to the site the other day and saw that the project had an activity rating in the 90s. And this is while its still marked as Beta. I think I'm going to re-release the exact same bits
under a new name and move it out of Beta or Alpha. I'll call it Platinum Edition.
- There are a number of issues with this whole project. I'm trying to get my thoughts down here.

BadgerFish to convert the XML of the RSS feeds of the two into JavaScript objects. At
that point I can do fun stuff like sorting them into lists on my page. Neat. This is how I spend my free time... OK.

homepage me projects blog personal 2004 Aug 19, 2:52I received an email from verification@citibank.com the other day with the subject "Fraud Check Verification". Or at least that's what someone at the jumphk2.net domain would have me believe. The
whole official looking email was very convincing at first glance. There's the Citibank logo image up in the left corner, the reassuring TrustE image in the opposite corner, and just the right amount
of legal-ese on the bottom. The text requested me to follow a link in the email to update and verify my information. At closer examination however it becomes apparent that this is a scam. Little
things start to catch your eye. The TrustE image is hosted on ebay and the Citibank logo is hosted at 65.108.92.50. Both images one might expect to be hosted on Citibank's site. The link in the email
looks like its taking you to https://www.citibank.com/saw-cgi/citibankISAPI.dll?PlaceCCInfo but in fact its taking you to a page hosted at 65.108.92.50 again. The following sentence appears in the
email:
If your account information is not updated within 48 hours then your ability to sell or bid on Citibank will become restricted.
Oh shit! My bid on Citibank might not go through! Seriously, they might have gone to a little more effort than just copying and pasting a scam letter meant for EBay. And the number one fact
revealing the email for what it is -- I don't have a Citibank account. I had received an email exactly like this several months ago and just deleted it, but for some reason, perhaps I was in a foul
mood, I decided to do something this time around. I emailed abuse at my domain, the ISP controlling their IP address, and Citibank. My domain told me there was nothing they could do. Citibank has yet
to respond. As for their ISP, the following day I received an email from Leon at Alabanza's Abuse department informing me:
This account has been locked down and is now on schedule for deletion. If we can further assist you please let us know.
Fuck yeah! This was a lot better than anything I had expected. I anticipated no response from any of the letters I sent. The page is gone now. Leon rocks!
